I hope you’ve had a great week. We are having such amazing weather in the UK at the moment and of course, this hot weather brings with it many BBQs. There’s no denying that traditionally BBQs consist of meat products such as sausages and burgers. Even Vegetarian and Vegan BBQ food normally consist of veggie sausages and veggie burgers. There’s nothing wrong with these types of food but it’s nice to see a little variety. People can sometimes get a little stuck with vegan food ideas, so today I thought I would share some go to BBQ options as there’s still plenty of summer BBQs to be had this season!
1. Vegan Skewers
The first thing I have here is Vegan Kebabs/Skewers. These are made with different vegetables I put on mushrooms, courgettes, peppers, tomatoes and corn on the cob. I also added tofu but you could add vegan sausages instead if you prefer.
2. Avo, salsa bowl
This may not look that appetizing because I can’t cut avocado but they taste nice. These are avocado’s filled with black bean salsa. In the black bean salsa, there are black beans chopped up tomatoes, onions some lemon juice. You could eat like this uncooked or cook the avocado slightly on the barbeque. I think these would look good for larger barbeques or parties if you have lots of them on a tray together.
3. BBQ Cauliflower
These are so tasty, really simple, and sometimes referred to as vegan buffalo wings. All they are is florets of cauliflower covered in barbecue sauce then put on the barbeque in a foil tray, but they taste amazing!
4. BBQ Jackfruit
This is barbecued jackfruit. It was tinned then shredded and again put into a foil tray with barbeque sauce and cooked on the barbeque, but it also works fine in the oven and can be a meal on its own. Here I have served it with lettuce and salsa in a burrito wrap, it’s also nice served with rice or in a bread roll.
Thank you for reading this post. I hope you enjoyed! Are you enjoying this very hot summer? Have you had many barbeques this summer? What’s your go-to barbecue food? I’d love to know in the comments below.
Bye, for now, see you next week!
